Can the data be downloaded for use in my GIS?

The data available in the MERLIN Online system originates from many sources, and can not be downloaded from one location. Certain data sets can be freely obtained from their respective custodians, other data are for sale. Use the "More Information About Data" button to determine the custodian for any given data layer, and contact that custodian to determine the data's availability. The MERLIN Partners page contains links to the data custodians.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is the custodian for many data layers in MERLIN Online, and much of that data is available for free download. Data from other MERLIN Online partners may be available or further described at the Maryland Mapping Resource Guide.
