hardware failure. It is estimated that this problem will be resolved by

The MERLIN Online Frequently Asked Questions, System Requirements (first-time visitors info.) and other Help documents have been updated to include new information about Java issues, pop-up blocking software, web browsers and other recent issues. The FAQ is also now easier to read and navigate.

If you have recently visited MERLIN Online, you need to clear your web browser's history and cache ("temporary internet files"). If you do not, MERLIN Online will be very slow to respond and will not show the correct maps.

In response to the state of emergency regarding Hurricane Isabel, the maps in MERLIN Online have been slightly modified. The regular maps will return after the emergency has lifted.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has released a new version of MERLIN Online to better serve its customers. In developing MERLIN Online '03, DNR worked closely with existing MERLIN users and other partners to make the system easier to use and organize the information in a more user-friendly manner. MERLIN Online has not been functioning since approximately 11:00 AM (Eastern Standard time) on February 4. A problem with the system's internet connection prevented it from working. While the homepage and supplemental information for MERLIN Online are currently working, the mapping application is not. The mapping application is expected to be fixed by 2:00 PM (Eastern Standard time) today. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
