This tutorial explains how to perform a screen capture and place the screen capture into other software as a graphic. This technique is often referred to as "Copy-and-Paste." Screen captures are a recommended method for printing from MERLIN Online.
The sample exercise performed in this tutorial places a map image of the Severn River Bridge into a word processor document, with a measurement of the bridge’s length included on the image.
The Copy-&-Paste technique shown in this tutorial is based on Microsoft Windows; the method of performing a screen capture relies on the Windows Clipboard. Similar methods may exist for other operating systems. There are also many software packages available (for many operating systems) which specialize in performing screen captures.
